How We Design & Build Your Pool.
A Process as Refined as
the Finished Result.
Commissioning a bespoke luxury pool is one of the most significant enhancements you can make to your home. The process should feel as considered and precise as the pool itself. At Preston Pools, we have refined our approach over two decades and thousands of projects to ensure that every stage is transparent, expertly managed, and focused entirely on realising your vision.

Initial Consultation
& Site Assessment.
Every project begins with a conversation. We take the time to understand how you intend to use your pool, the architectural context of your property, and any specific requirements, whether that is a lap pool for daily fitness, a hydrotherapy suite for therapeutic use, or a statement indoor pool that becomes the centrepiece of your home.
Our team will conduct a thorough site assessment, evaluating structural considerations, access, drainage, ventilation requirements, and any planning constraints. This stage ensures that when we move to design, every decision is grounded in the reality of your space.

Design
Development.
This is where your pool begins to take shape. Our design team develops detailed plans and specifications for your pool within the context of your property. You will understand the proportions, the materials, the lighting, and the relationship between your pool and its surroundings before a single element is built.
We find that this stage is where the most meaningful conversations happen. Clients can explore different tile finishes, lighting configurations, water features, and spatial layouts with complete clarity. It removes guesswork and replaces it with confidence.

Engineering & Technical
Specification.
Once the design is approved, our engineering team produces a comprehensive technical specification covering structural design, hydraulic calculations, filtration and water treatment systems, heating, ventilation, and dehumidification. Every pool we build is engineered to precise structural and mechanical standards. This is the invisible work that determines the longevity and performance of your pool for decades to come.
For basement and indoor installations, this stage also includes detailed coordination with your architect and main contractor to ensure seamless integration with the wider build programme.

Construction &
Project Management.
Our project managers oversee every day of the build. With eighteen in-house specialists and nine fully equipped vehicles, we have the capacity to maintain momentum and quality control without relying on subcontractors for critical works.
Throughout the construction phase, you will receive regular updates and have a single point of contact for any questions. We coordinate with all other trades on site and manage the programme to minimise disruption to your property and your schedule.

Finishing &
Commissioning.
The finishing stage is where a Preston Pools project truly distinguishes itself. Bespoke tiling, custom water features, integrated lighting, and precision detailing are all completed by our specialist team. We do not consider a pool finished until every element has been inspected and every system tested.
Commissioning includes full water treatment balancing, system calibration, and a comprehensive handover with documentation and guidance on maintaining your pool to the highest standard.

Aftercare &
Ongoing Support.
Our relationship with clients does not end at handover. We offer ongoing maintenance guidance and remain available to support you with any aspect of your pool’s operation. Many of our clients have commissioned multiple projects with us over the years, a reflection of the trust built through the experience of working together.
A Beautiful Pool Deserves an Exceptional System Behind It.
Preston Pools strongly advocates the Dryden Aqua SPACE disinfection and filtration system for our clients, one of the most advanced water management platforms available for residential pools. For those who want their pool to perform as intelligently as it looks, this is the system we recommend.
AI-Driven Dosing
Chemical dosing handled automatically, delivering precisely the right amount of disinfectant exactly when it is needed. No manual testing, no guesswork, no over-chlorination.
Optimised Backwashing
Backwashing is managed by AI, optimising the cleaning cycle based on actual filter performance rather than a fixed timer. The system runs only when it needs to.
Self-Levelling Water
Water levels are monitored and maintained automatically. The system tops up when levels drop and removes excess water if levels rise too high.
A pool that looks after itself to an exceptional standard, giving you more time to enjoy it.
Where specified, we integrate the Dryden Aqua SPACE system within a purpose-designed plant room, alongside Recotherm dehumidification units and full electrical control panels. Every component is professionally installed, clearly labelled, and accessible for servicing. It is the kind of detail most pool companies never talk about, but for clients who expect the best, it is often the detail that matters most.
Not Every Project Begins with a Blank Canvas.
Preston Pools also undertakes the refurbishment of existing swimming pools, breathing new life into ageing installations that no longer meet the standard their owners expect. Whether it is a complete retile, a plant room upgrade, structural repairs, or a full modernisation of filtration, heating, and control systems, we bring the same precision and attention to detail to refurbishment work as we do to every new build.
If you have an existing pool that needs restoring to its best, or you have acquired a property with a pool that requires attention, we would welcome the opportunity to assess the work required and advise on the best course of action.
