Set within an impressive private estate in the heart of Mobberley, Brendan's brief called for an indoor pool with an air of understated opulence. Natural stone was to run throughout the hall, and the clients were keen to integrate alternative-energy solutions into the build wherever possible.
Achieving understated opulence meant layering polished, split-face and textured stone without the room feeling heavy, while lava tiles needed to catch light from every angle. Integrating the clients' alternative-energy ambitions required close coordination with their own contractors and on-site meetings to tie everything into our pool system.
We finished the hall in an array of natural stone — polished, split-face and textured — with lava tiles that shimmer differently through the day. A huge custom oversized cobra-head fountain forms the centrepiece, alongside a raised tiled spa, sauna cabin and high-gloss stretched ceiling. We coordinated closely with the clients' contractors on energy integration.
The finished pool hall offers quiet, understated opulence — natural stone throughout, lava tiles glimmering with the changing light, and an oversized bespoke cobra fountain as its centrepiece. Half-hexagon steps and a tiled skimmer spa complete the room, with the clients' alternative-energy solutions successfully integrated into the system.
