Gary approached Preston Pools to design and build an outdoor swimming pool for his home in Knutsford, set around an existing garden summer-house. The brief called for a clean, family-friendly pool with year-round usability — paired with a tiled luxury spa and steam room inside the summer-house, creating a self-contained outdoor wellness suite.
An outdoor pool in the North West has to earn its keep through the cooler months — heat retention, debris management and a tidy plant installation were all priorities. The summer-house itself needed to house a fully tiled spa, a steam room and the pool's plant equipment, without the working elements compromising the relaxed garden-room atmosphere the client wanted.
We specified a 10m × 4m patterned-liner pool with LED lighting and removable rail steps for an uncluttered edge profile. A concealed automatic pool cover protects the water and conserves heat between swims. Inside the summer-house, we installed a blue mosaic-tiled luxury spa and steam room alongside a fully concealed plant room — keeping the mechanical side completely out of sight.
The finished installation works as a single outdoor leisure setting: a generous 10m pool framed by the summer-house, with the tiled spa, steam room and LED-lit pool extending use well beyond the summer months. The patterned liner gives the water a soft, natural tone against the garden, and the removable rails keep the poolside clean when the pool isn't in use.
