Janet approached Preston Pools for a beautiful indoor level-deck pool designed around relaxation and gentle exercise. The brief combined a discreet, architectural pool edge with comfortable features — tiled loungers, a bespoke corner spa and a glass-walled bar area — for a space built as much for unwinding as for swimming.
A discreet top-edge slot system relies on the top-edge stone being cut and set with precision so the overflow effectively disappears. Balancing exercise features such as a counter-current swim jet with relaxation elements like tiled loungers, a corner spa and a glazed bar area required a layout that served both uses comfortably.
We built a 9m × 4.2m level-deck pool with a discreet top-edge slot system formed in the top-edge stone, a counter-current swim jet for exercise and a cobra's-head water feature for massage and effect. Colour-change LED lighting washes the pool, and a 2.2m square spa adds massage jets within the backrests.
The finished pool brings a wash of colour to life through its LED lighting and balances exercise with deep relaxation. Tiled loungers, a bespoke corner spa and a glass-walled bar area frame the room, while an automatic cover improves energy efficiency between swims and the cobra fountain adds both massage and visual drama.
