Rod approached Preston Pools for a luxury indoor pool hall using a range of natural stone, lit to wash the room with a warm golden glow. The brief paired a level-deck pool with a raised spa offering genuine therapeutic benefit, plus a glass-fronted steam room, within a refined, atmospheric space.
A high-pressure water cannon — intended to break down rigid tissue and relieve muscular pain — had to be specified and positioned for real therapeutic effect within the raised spa. Lighting a range of natural stone to achieve a warm golden wash, while integrating a recessed waterfall and a glass-fronted steam room, took careful detailing.
We built a 10m × 5m level-deck pool with a raised spa housing a high-pressure water cannon for targeted muscular relief, and recessed a waterfall trickling down a quartz split-face stone wall. A glass-fronted steam room and a stretched vinyl ceiling with recessed colour-change LED lighting complete the room, controlled via iPad.
The finished pool hall is washed with a golden glow from clever lighting across its natural stone. The bespoke built-in spa and water cannon deliver therapeutic relief, the recessed quartz waterfall and bespoke steam room add atmosphere, and iPad control and an airpad round out a space recognised with a Silver SPATA Award.
