Jo approached Preston Pools for a beautiful leisure suite combining a pool, spa and steam room with plenty of extras to add the wow factor. The brief called for an ultra-modern aesthetic with a standout design feature, set within a calm, muted material palette brought to life by natural light.
The signature feature — a bespoke tiled spa recessed into the wall and reached by a glass bridge floating level with the floor — demanded precise structural and waterproofing detailing. Combining this with a swimjet skimmer pool and a tiled steam room, all in a restrained palette, required careful coordination to keep the look seamless.
We recessed a bespoke tiled spa into the wall, accessed by a floor-level glass bridge for an ultra-modern feature, alongside a gunmetal glass-mosaic skimmer pool with a powerful counter-current swimjet. A bespoke tiled steam room, muted tiling and wall coverings, and LED strip lighting were brought to life by natural light from bi-fold doors.
The finished leisure suite has genuine wow factor — the floating glass bridge to the recessed spa as its centrepiece. A recessed stretched ceiling with colour-change LED detailing, chrome fittings and a gunmetal mosaic finish keep the look sharp, while ozone and UV treatment serve the pool and spa respectively.
